WHO'S YOUR GUY?




"You're the average of the five persons closest to you" X. Now, the question is, who are the five persons closest to you? If they happen to be foolish, their folly will rub off on you. 

In the words of King Solomon, walk with the wise and become wise for a companion of fool suffers harm. Your circle explains a lot about your personality because like it or not we are influenced by the persons we keep around. 

The concept of "Show me your friend, I will tell you who you are" is no fallacy. It is real, and ever since I figured this out I became discriminative in choosing friends. We can't just be friends like that, call it selfish that's your headache, I won't let an half-wit into my space. 

Be intentional about the friends you keep.  Trust me, it will save you a whole lot of heart ache. I'm not very smart, I'm not even half as smart as I seem yet you'd hardly know because I keep really smart people around. It is my claim that someday their intellect will rub off on me. 

Constantly evaluate your associate. Are you close to individuals that would better you? I'm not talking about financial support here. There are persons that if you indulge them in a conversation, afterwards you must've learnt a lot, there are persons who by simply arguing with them you gain insight. 

I will share my little secret with you, if you aren't wise, do well to have wise friends. If you aren't smart, do well to have smart friends.

TEAM WORK

It can be quite frustrating when a collective effort results in only one person receiving all the praise. Even if my contribution is just 1%, it shouldn’t be overlooked. You never know how these small efforts can make a significant difference. My bubugaga is back from school, and today we did a lot of tidying up. It’s amazing how I suddenly find the energy to work when she's around, despite my usual laziness. After completing so much work, we took a break—we were honestly worn out. Fast forward to the end of the day: everyone applauded her for a job well done, as though it was solely her effort. It felt off because I felt I deserved some recognition too—it was teamwork, after all. So, the point is, you never know how hurtful it can be when someone's effort goes unacknowledged.
