SCREW FIRST IMPRESSION.
"First impression matters a lot", X.
You must've have heard this before and trust me, there's need to give a good first impression yet don't write someone off based on first impression.
I have a friend who came off as arrogant the first time we spoke, after that conversation at the camp meeting that day I swore I would never talk to such a person ever again, that was me writing him off by first impression.
First impression is the almost-instant conclusion we draw when meeting someone for the first time. We form this opinion by quickly taking in information about a person, including their face, dress, posture and tone of voice. These impressions last well beyond that moment.
Your first impression of a person is necessarily not true, you may be meeting the person at a wrong time or misjudging the gestures the person shows.
Currently, me and that friend is very close, I gave him a second chance to make a better impression and realized I had misjudged him, turns out he is the kindest, well-mannered soul.
Give people time before writing them off, at best don't even write them off. You are not God, give everyone the privilege of the doubt, I tend to see the good in everyone, no matter how terrible you are, there's something exclusively special about you.
I have lots of experience at going by first impression and how they backfired, you can't conclude a person's personality via first impression, it is highly fallacious. A person can give a really good first impression and turn out to be a terrible person.
