OUTCOMES DOESNT DEFINE YOU.

OUTCOMES DOES'NT DEFINE YOU.

Most often when we don't get our desired outcome we tend to fall into depression. Well, for me whenever I do poorly in an exam, test, competition or any book related task I will get into a state of depression and start harboring thoughts that support the idea that I might actually be an academic failure.

Growing up I stood on the illusion that aside book work I wasn't good for anything else so I desperately sought after academic validation. I'm certain I ain't the only one who seek such validation, it might not be like mine(academic validation) but at a point you wanted so badly to be good at a particular aspect.

This isn't a bad thing, it is actually nice but is does have side effect. It becomes dangerous to have outcomes/performance define you. It is dumb to fail an exam and instead of taking the lesson and become better you sulk all day long wallowing in depression.

You are more than that failed project.
You didn't fail but the project which you engaged in. And what do we do when projects fail? We stay calm while analyzing the reason behind the failure of the project and deriving plans to annul such failure next time.

There's need to distinguish the person from the project. The failure of the project doesn't make the project planner a failure.

So when that project fails, regardless of if you feel you didn't deserve sure result/outcome don't dwell in it, instead, take the lesson and move on. Life goes on.

The failure or success of a project doesn't define you. Failure and success are merely feedbacks, using them as feedbacks enables you to make better decisions next time.
