NECESSARY PAIN.
It is my basic assumption that life is tough, but what do I know? Now, today's content isn't to fully defend my claim (that's a story for another day). I would like to re-tell a story we've all heard, at least a couple of times.
The Israelites spent 40 years on their way to Canaan from Egypt. These are God's chosen people, by foot God's chosen people journeyed the wilderness for 40 years yet not all of them arrived at Canaan. If God's favorite nation can go through such hardship what of us? You and me.
The point is; life is tough.
For the rich, it is tough
"Ecclesiastes 5:11 The richer you are, the more mouths you must feed. All you gain is the knowledge that you are rich". Isn't this tough?.
For the poor, life is also tough.
From Canaan to Egypt is an 11-days journey yet, it took the Israelite 40 years. 40 years of going round in circles yet not entering the promised land. This stressful process was a necessary pain they had to undergo and God made sure of it.
Regardless of being God's favorite, the Israelites couldn't skip the whole wilderness process. Some suffering are simply just necessary.
All things are possible. God can do all things yet, will God do all things? It is possible for God to have magically carried the entire mass of Israelites from Egypt and land them in Canaan. He has the power to, but he didn't.
"Ecclesiastes 7:14 When things are going well for you, be glad, and when trouble comes, just remember: God sends both happiness and trouble; you never know what is going to happen next".
Know this, whatsoever that occurs is permitted by God. God permits necessary pains, don't throw accusations at God when things fall apart. Be calm and pull through in the knowledge that some pains are necessary.
Conclusively, it mustn't have been easy to go through an 11-days journey for 40 years yet it was necessary for them.
Merry Sunday.
