The subconscious mind
THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND.
What is the subconscious mind?
The subconscious mind is a fascinating and complex aspect of our mental processes that influences our thoughts, emotions, and behavior. Despite its importance in shaping our experiences, it remains largely unknown to our conscious awareness.
What does the subconscious mind do? It stores our beliefs and values, determines our memories and monitors the information all around us, deciding what to send to the conscious mind and what to store for later.
Our subconscious mind is powerful, in that most of our decisions, actions, emotions, and behaviors happen unconsciously and automatically. And let's face it, for many of us, the programs could use a little updating. Because much of what we hold subconsciously sabotages what we consciously want to create.
The subconscious mind is always working in the background, but you are not necessarily aware of it. Sometimes it called the unconscious mind, your subconscious mind contains all of the stored information of everything you have ever experienced.
Because of this, it influences how you react to things, such as why you are shy, lazy, eat too much, or have an addiction. On the positive side, your subconscious mind also affects things like why you are motivated, confident, successful, cheerful, hopeful and so on.
Every moment that you are awake, your five senses are taking in a constant stream of information. These experiences are stored as memories, like a computer stores data. our subconscious mind can be likened to a computer storage.
The experiences we have shape the way we think and act via our subconscious mind. It is constantly running programs to control how we walk, sit, breathe, talk, and so on. We don’t have to think about these things, they just happen because the information to do them is stored in your brain.
Your subconscious mind causes you to feel emotionally and physically uncomfortable whenever you attempt to do anything new or different or to change any of your established patterns of behavior. The sense of fear and discomfort are psychological signs that your subconscious has been activated. But it’s been working to establish those behavior patterns in the background long before you’ll ever notice such feelings.
When you find it difficult to commit to new habits, that's your subconscious mind in place. It designs a system to always keep you at your comfort zone and commit to consistent patterns.
